Child Safety Standards

These Child Safety Standards apply to Hoot, the mobile application published on Google Play by Hoot App Inc. (package name: com.thehootapp.prod), and to all related services operated by Hoot App, Inc. ("Hoot," "we," "us"). They describe our policies against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE), how to report concerns, and how we respond.
1. Zero Tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE)
Hoot strictly prohibits Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) in any form. We do not tolerate any content or behavior on Hoot that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children. A "child" means anyone under the age of 18, regardless of the age of majority or consent in their jurisdiction.
2. Prohibited Content and Behavior
The following are strictly prohibited on Hoot and will result in immediate enforcement action:
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) — any visual, written, or audio content that sexualizes, depicts, or describes the sexual abuse or exploitation of a child, whether real, altered, or generated (including AI-generated content).
- Grooming — contacting, befriending, or building trust with a child in order to facilitate sexual contact, sexual abuse, or the production of sexual material, whether online or offline.
- Sextortion — threatening or blackmailing a child, or someone believed to be a child, to obtain sexual content, sexual acts, money, or anything else of value.
- Sexualization of minors — content or behavior that presents children in a sexual manner, including sexualized commentary, imagery, or role-play involving minors.
- Child trafficking — advertising, soliciting, recruiting, or facilitating the commercial sexual exploitation of a child.
- Any attempt to use Hoot's features — including profiles, messaging, events, or location features — to identify, contact, or harm children.
3. Age Requirements
Hoot is not directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old to use Hoot, and users under 18 require the review and consent of a parent or legal guardian, as described in our Terms of Service (https://thehootapp.com/legal/terms-of-service). Accounts found to belong to underage users are removed, and their data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy (https://thehootapp.com/legal/privacy-policy).
4. How to Report a Concern
If you encounter content or behavior on Hoot that you believe violates these standards, or you have any child safety concern involving Hoot, report it to our designated Child Safety team:

Reports are reviewed promptly by our Child Safety team. You do not need a Hoot account to submit a report, and you may report anonymously.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local law enforcement first. You can also report child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) at https://report.cybertip.org or to the appropriate authority in your country.
5. How We Respond
When we identify or are notified of content or behavior that may violate these standards, we:
- Review the report promptly and remove violating content.
- Suspend or permanently terminate the accounts involved.
- Report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the appropriate regional authority, as required by law.
- Preserve and provide relevant information to law enforcement in response to valid legal requests, and cooperate with investigations into child exploitation.
6. Compliance with Child Safety Laws
Hoot App Inc. complies with applicable child safety laws, including laws governing the reporting of child sexual abuse material, in the regions where Hoot is available. These standards apply globally to every Hoot user and to all content on the platform.
